The BrainMother Siege

The vile entities of entropic decay have pierced through to the inner sanctum using some kind of portal. The BrainMother, exposed and fragile, beckons to her lone defender with a simple charge;  Slay these beasts, and use the cognithium crystals excreted by their death-slackened glands to fuel the mental projection of an army of defenders. This may be the final stand, and BrainMother has authorized use of the Doom Cannon, powered by her very own synaptic lifeforce.  

You offer prayers to the undulating Amygdala to regain your vitality, then ready your arm-blaster and turn towards the oncoming foe.
